The Civil Supplies Department in association with GHMC has begun its second phase of 12 kg rice distribution to white cardholders as part of Covid relief in the state
Chairman for State Civil Supplies Corporation M.Srinivas Reddy, Mayor Dr Bonthu Rammohan along with Khairtabad MLA Danam Nagender formally launched rice distribution programme in Srinagar Colony and Panjagutta here today.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman said the ration will be distributed till month end and there is no need to be panic and appealed the people to take ration as per tokens issued by following social distance. He further said the amount Rs.1500 will be paid either through banks or post offices as it was done in the first phase last month. At present Dal is being supplied in some districts and will also be supplied in other districts as and when stock arrives, he said.
Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said as a part of KCR’s policy of no one goes hungry, the government is providing free food to 1.75 lakhs needy through Annapurna free meals daily. Further Mayor appealed the citizens to co-operative and follow with the measures taken by the government in containing Covid-19 virus.
They later felicitated the local sanitation workers with shawls as a token of recognition to their contribution in fighting the COVID19.
