A sedition case has been slapped against a young woman who raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at an anti-CAA event in Bengaluru today, which was attended by AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

A video telecast on a local news channel shows that Asad tried to prevent the lady from raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan by trying to snatch away the mike from her. PTI reported that the girl named Amulya was arrested and booked under Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code.

Bengaluru police said Amulya Leona is a student activist and was earlier detained by the Bengaluru police after she created a ruckus shouting “Hindustan Zindabad and Pakistan Zindabad” a few times before the mic was taken away from her.

Meanwhile, Asaduddin expressed his resentment at the organisers for allowing the lady to speak on the dais while clarifying that: “The statement made by the girl is wrong. I’m not associated with it. My party does not support it. As long I’m alive, Inshallah, I will shout Bharat Ma ki Jai” Owaisi said.”The organisers should not have invited her here,” he added.

PTI also reported that the JD (S) corporator Imran Pasha who organised the event claimed she was planted by a rival group to disrupt the event and she was not even on their list of speakers.
