Cyberabad: The Sniffer dog ‘Teena’ of the Cyberabad City Police died of ill health and she was accorded a guard of honour on her death.
Teena, born on August 2, 2011, had a long and successful career till her retirement on August 23, 2020. During her lifetime Tina had helped cops to detect whenever bomb threat calls used to be reported. Like a sniffer dog, there were instances with the clues given by Tina, cops used to nail the suspects who used to make fake calls. Her services were prominent during the period of Former DGP of undivided Andhra Pradesh Anurag Sharma, Former Commissioner of Police Cyberabad CV Anand and Former Commissioner of Cyberabad Sandeep Shandilya.
The police officials, including Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad VC Sajjanar, Traffic DCP SM Vijay Kumar, ADCP CAR Hqtrs Manik Raj, CAR Hqtrs CSW ADCP Venkat Reddy, ACP CAR Hqtrs Laxminarayana, ACP Santhosh Kumar, all RIs, RSIs and Canine Squad staff, CSW BD team RI Srinivas, CSW Dog squad HC Madhusudhan Reddy and BD Team staff bid a tearful adieu to the departed soul and gave a guard of honour to ‘Teena’, who died due to illness on Wednesday.
The officials placed a wreath and paid their last respects to Teena with police bands and 3 rounds of Gun firing. The four-legged Braveheart Teena Cocker Spaniel Breed (female) had served in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate for a period of ten years. She was Trained at IITA Moinabad 2012 Batch in Explosive Detection as Sniffer Dog.

The sniffer dog ‘Teena’ was involved in a number of Police Duty Performance such as Regular Duties & Routine Checks etc., all VIP’s, VVIP’s, ROP’s, Anti Sabotage Checks, RGIA Helipad Checks & Emergency Threat calls, Threat call at JNTU (08.05.2014), threat call at Gandipet (25.05.2014), Open House Demo’s at Cyberabad Parade Ground, Demo’s at Gachibowli Stadium, Bio-Diversity COP II duties at 2017 and Ivanka Trump Duties at HICC etc.
