The Mahabubnagar Superintendent of Police Rema Rajeshwari called upon women to report the sexual abuses and dare to speak against such crimes openly.
Participating in an online Webinar session on “Preventing Sexual Abuse of Women and Children in Cyberspace” here today, Rema Rajeshwari stressed the need to create awareness among women on various online abuses against women and children.
The webinar was organised by the Women Safety Wing in association with Legal Aid Centre of Symbiosis Law School discussed on various preventive measures to combat against sexual abuse against women and children in cyberspace as part of an initiative under the online campaign “CybHER”- Making Cyberspace safe for women and Children initiated by the Telangana police.
Director of Ethics and Integrity, ISAC Rajshekhar Murthy, during his speech, elaborated on how sexual abuses cases are on surge during this pandemic, he had explained various preventive measures which could be taken by women and children while accessing the internet.
Cyber Lawyer and Cyber Security Specialist Ms Janice Verghese laid keen emphasis on the legal framework established to tackle sexual abuse against women in cyberspace.
The webinar was Moderated by DSP CID Cybercrimes Ravi Kumar Reddy, who indeed played an active and supportive role by posting impact-creating questions to the eminent speakers.
The views and the experience that the eminent panellists shared was aimed at educating people about ways in which one can protect themselves from cyber sexual assaults online and the legal resources available.
