State to utilise T-Sat platform for Online Classes: Vinod Kumar

Chairman of the State Planning Commission Boinpalli Vinod Kumar assured to pursue with the centre for the inclusion of T-SAT channel into the Direct to Home (DTH) network to enable it to reach more number of students in the state.

Assuring to this effect during his surprise visit to the T-Sat studios today, Vinod Kumar said that the T-Sat is already available on cable, ROT, and Social Media Platforms. “Efforts will be made to include them in DTH, Tata Sky, Sun Director, and Jio TV networks etc”, he said.

When the TSat CEO brought to his notice that a letter had already been written to the Union Ministry seeking permission for the same, Vinod assured to talk to the Union Minister for Information Prakash Javadekar in this connection.

He further said the state government is making all efforts to fully utilise the state-owned T-Sat network channels to air not just on education but also on the other departments in the government. “A full-fledged programming plan will be chalked out soon”, he announced.

Earlier, accompanied by the Director of SERT Sheshu Kumari, TS HEC Vice-Chairman Venkata Ramana, Vinod Kumar went around all the wings inspecting technical facilities etc. T-Sat CEO Shailesh Reddy explained the visiting dignitaries on the functioning of each wing. His visit necessitated in view of the state government’s recent decision to encourage online classes to the students owing to the Covid pandemic situation.
