‘Sulphur smell’ from Patancheru causes ill health, HRC issues notices

Telangana State Human Rights Commission (TS HRC) has issued notices to the Commissioner Industries and Member Secretary Telangana Pollution Control Board (TS PCB) on the reports of Sulphur-like smell spreading in the air from Bachupally to Gachibowli.


The reports appeared in a section of the media that ‘people suffer from an ill-health and severe headache after inhaling sulphur-like smell in the air emanated from the pharma industries in Patancheru area. The Commission, reacting suo-motto on the reports issued notices.

When inquired by MaaHyderabad, people complained that there was a foul (chemical) smell spread in the air in Bachupally, Miyapur, Hafeezpet, Ameenpur, Madinaguda and Gachibowli areas giving a tough time to the denizens. People reportedly rushed to the hospitals with one complaint or the other.
