The Telangana Superspeciality Hospitals Association has unanimously decided to stop extending Aarogyasree services to the patients under Employees and Journalists Health Care scheme from August 10, 2019.

A decision to this effect was taken at its association meeting held in the city today. They said the decision was imperative as the state government had failed to clear the huge bills piled up with it since December last. It may be recalled, the government had released Rs 100 crore as an immediate measure just before the elections after the association gave a similar call to withdraw Aarogyasree services. But since then, they alleged that the government did not even react to its en number of pleas in this regard.

Hence, “it is imperative for us to take this drastic step in view of the huge amounts pending with the government”, the association said. It is said that over Rs 1500 crore pending with the government for clearance which includes Aarogyasree network hospitals as well.
