Surrender Arms before November 19 or face penal action: Kothwal

The City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar has appealed to all those licensed weapon holders irrespective of all categories to surrender their arms to their nearby police stations immediately.


In a statement issued here today, Anjani Kumar said all those holding licensed weapons residing in Hyderabad and Secunderabad including security guards posted at Banks and Sportsmen or members of National Riffles Association etc to submit on or before November 19 in view of the forthcoming GST elections to be held on December 1st.

“They can be collected back after the conclusion of elections on December 6, 2020”, he said warning all those failing to submit their weapons with penal action by confiscating weapons.


He also made mandatory to seek police prior permission to conduct, organise meetings, processions, padayatras, rallies and mobile publicity etc within the twin-cities. He also appealed to all political parties and contesting candidates to apply for the written permission, if any, with the concerned zonal DCPs at least 48 hours in advance. Permissions for usage of loudspeakers, mikes and Mobiles campaigns are also necessary, he said.
