Swatmanandendra declared heir of Sharada Peetam

The head of Sringeri Sharada Peetham Swamy Swaroopanandendra showered praises on the Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and the AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy who have attended as the chief guest at the ceremony held in Vijayawada to anoint the young Kiran Kumar Sarma as the Uttaradhikari (heir) to the Sringeri Sharada Peetham of Visakhapatnam.

Terming the Telangana CM as an intellectual, Swamy Swaroopanandendra declared that the latter is more dear to him. “He has a great quality of ‘giving’, which a true leader requires”, he said and added that ‘KCR will remain in the history for his Kaleshwaram and Yadadri temple projects. Unlike other rulers, he decided to rebuild the dilapidated Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadadri thereby promoting the Hindu culture and tradition in the country more than what the Hindutva parties believe in”, he said.

Kiran Kumar Sarma who was rechristened as Swatmanandendra Saraswathi will take over the Sharada Peetham of Visakhapatnam in 2024. “After which I will leave for penance in the Himalayas”, Swamy Swaroopanandendra declared.

The 3-day colourful traditional event took place on the banks of river Krishna at the Ganapathi Sachhidananda Swamy ashramam in Vijayawada on Monday. Both the Chief Ministers attended the event and placed the crown together on the head of new heir of Visakha Sharada Peetham Swamy Swatmanandendra Saraswathi.

Both the Chief Ministers were honoured by Swaroopanandendra with shawls and mementoes. KCR later left for Hyderabad.
