Three Capital bill shelved for 3 months by AP Legislative Council

The Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Committee Shareef has taken a sensational decision to send the two key bills approved by the state assembly comprising CRDA Abolition Bill and the AP Decentralisation Bill to the Select Committee amidst uproar from the treasury benches.

Although the main opposition Telugu Desam Party is jubilant over the council’s decision, the ruling YSRCP members are opposing the Chairman’s decision tooth and nail alleging he was partial in his decision. The Chairman soon after declaring his decision to send the two bills to the select committee postponed the council meeting indefinitely and retired to his chamber.

The decision, however, has come as expected by the political analysts considering the majority of the Telugu Desam candidates in the council especially as predicted by the Editor of this portal. The chairman Shareef has come under sharp criticism for his decision, especially from the treasury benches.

The Minister for Legislative Affairs Buggana Rajender Reddy accused the Council Chairman of taking the wrong decision using his ‘discretion’ against the rule. “Chairman has taken the decision due to the pressure from Chandra Babu Naidu”, he said and termed it as a Black Day in the history of Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, another Minister Botsa Satyanarayana found fault with the TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu for his presence in the council at the time of the chairman’s decision.
