TRS leader Cheruku Srinivas Reddy joins Congress in Dubbaka

TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy is seen inviting TRS leader Cheruku Srinivas Reddy in to the Congress

The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader from Dubbaka constituency in Medak district Cheruku Srinivas Reddy has joined the Congress party today.


Welcoming him into the party fold, the TPCC president Uttam Kumar, assured that a bright future is ahead for Srinivas Reddy in the party considering his commitment in serving the people like his father late Cheruku Muthyam Reddy.

Cheruku Srinivas Reddy is the son of Cheruku Muthyam Reddy a 4-time MLA and former Minister in Chandrababu Naidu regime and later joined Congress and contested twice in 2009 and 2014 election in Dubbaka but lost to the late Solipet Ramalinga Reddy of TRS twice. However, he joined the TRS in 2018 on the invitation of Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and breathed his last on September 3, 2019, at the age of 74.

Leaders including Damodar Raja Narasimha, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Jagga Reddy, Seethakka, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Shabbir Ali, Kusuma Kumar, Gudur Narayana Reddy, Dasoju Sravan, DCC President Narsa Reddy, Tirupathi Reddy also participated in the event.

Congress party is expected to announce the candidature of Cheruku Srinivas Reddy as its nominee in the Dubbaka byelections tomorrow as they await a green signal from the party high command.
