TRS MLA from Dubbaka Ramalinga Reddy dies of Coronavirus


TRS MLA from Dubbaka Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy breathes his last early this morning while undergoing treatment for Covid positive in the city.

Ramalinga Reddy was tested positive a few days ago and has been undergoing treatment ever since in the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology at Gachibowli. His end came today at 1.45 am. He is survived by a son and a daughter. His body has been shifted to his native Dubbaka for final rites which will be held today.


A hardcore Telangana protagonist, Ramalinga Reddy was at the forefront of the Telangana Movement and worked under the KCR’s leadership. He was with TRS party from the beginning. He worked as a Journalist spanning 25 years of his career in print media before joining TRS in 2001. He elected unopposed from Dubbaka constituency on TRS ticket for 4 consecutive terms.

Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed deep shock over the death of MLA Solipet Rama Linga Reddy. The CM recalled his association with Rama Linga Reddy as a fellow activist hailing from his native region and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved family. The CM prayed to God to keep the departed soul rest in peace.

Shocked at the unexpected demise, several TRS leaders including KT Rama Rao, Jagadeesh Reddy, Harish Rao, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, various associates of his party, and friends besides his journalist friends like Andhole MLA Chanti Kranti Kiran, TSUWJ Secretary Virahat Ali, Ex-MLC R Satyanarayan have expressed their deep shock and condolences. They recalled their association with him on his long journey as a journalist and the ruling party MLA.

Editor of MaaHyderabad and General Secretary Telangana Online Working Journalists Association Sridhar Dharmasanam too paid his tributes to the departed soul. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
