A TRS party worker committed suicide as he was reportedly upset over the defeat of TRS party in the Dubbaka bypoll results announced yesterday.
The TRS worker identified as Swamy ended his life at his residence in Konaipalli village in Daultabad mandal of Dubbaka constituency las night. Minister Harish Rao who along with MP K Prabhakar Reddy visited their residence and consoled the family members of the victim.
The Minister who took part in the last rites not only expressed his condolence to the bereaved family members but also personally supervised the last rites. He also extended immediate financial support of Rs 2 lakh to the victim’s parents on behalf of the party and assured to take of the family in all respects.
Later speaking to the party workers, Harish Rao said that Swami had worked hard during the elections and was offended with the results. He appealed to all the party workers not to resort to any such activities as suicides are not the solution. He further said winning and losing is the common phenomena and temporary phase and it should be taken in a sportive spirit especially in politics. “We all shall work together in future to build Bangaru Telangana”, he added.
