Telangana Panchayat Raj Department has bagged at least 7 national awards in 3 different categories besides general category.
Revealing this here today, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said these awards indicate not just the performance of the department but also the vision of Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, whose meticulous planning had made this possible. He also congratulated all the award winners and was all praise for their efforts in taking their respective panchayats to the national level while assuring all help and support to them.
Union Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Ministry has awarded the prestigious Deen Dayal Panchayat Sashakti Karan Puraskar under 7 categories to District, Block or Mandal, and Gram Panchayat wise. The awards are being given in recognition of the good work that is done by PRIs at each level for improving the delivery of services and public goods.
Each category has been named as Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar under Category-1, Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award in Category-2, Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat Award under Category-3, while others have been awarded under General Category.

Sultanabad village panchayat in Peddapalli district besides Nandipet village panchayat in Nizamabad district was awarded under the Block-level or Mandal level category.
Kistampet village panchayat under Srirampur Mandal of Peddapalli district bagged the award under the gram panchayat category.
Gurrala Gondi village panchayat under Chinna Kodur Mandal in Siddipet district got the award under the Gram Panchayat category.
Gangaram village panchayat in Kataram Mandal of Jayashankar Bhoopalpalli district has bagged under the Gram Panchayat category
Pedda Lingareddy Palle village panchayat in Siddipet rural Mandal of Medak district has bagged the award general category.
