The COVID-19 cases in Telangana have crossed 700-mark on Thursday after 50 new cases were registered in the state.
Health Minister Etela Rajender said in his daily briefing that 496 cases were active and undergoing treatment in hospitals. Out of 496, over 240 patients are from Hyderabad jurisdiction currently under treatment in GHMC limits. The rest are from other districts.
A total of 18 deaths recorded in the state while 186 have been discharged after recovery out of which 68 have been discharged today.
The minister blamed the Tablighi Jamaat members for the spread of coronavirus in the state. He said the containment process in 159 clusters of 13 districts in the state has been completed.
Meanwhile, the Joint Secretary of Union Health Ministry Luv Agarwal in his daily press briefing today said that Bhadradri and Kothagudem are the only two districts in Telangana that have no coronavirus cases reported in the last 14 days.
