TS declares sale and purchase of UDS lands illegal

The state government today warned the real estate firms against selling lands of Undivided Share prior to getting approvals from Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and warned the public of buying such lands prior to the approvals.

“Such sale of UDF lands before registration of RERA will attract 10% of penalty on the total project cost under Section 59 of the RERA Act 2016”, said Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar during a meeting with the representatives of CREDAI and other Real Estate organisation here.

Issuing a strict warning to CREDAI and other Representatives of Real Estate firms against such illegal sales, CS instructed the Principal Secretary Home, Ravi Gupta to look into the matter and initiate appropriate action where such fraudulent sales took place.

Accordingly, Secretary RERA and Commissioner, IG Stamps and Registrations, were directed to issue necessary instructions to the industry and media advising the general public not to buy UDS lands of such companies, which may lead to litigation in the future which are not registered with Telangana State RERA.
