Telangana State Tourism and Culture Department has launched a Braille book for blind people on the history of Golkonda fort to enable them to comprehend with the historical aspects.
The book was initiated by the superintending Archaeologist at the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Dr Milan Kumar Chauley was released here by Secretary Tourism and Culture Burra Venkatesham at Secretariat today.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Burra Venkatesham said that, the Government has taken the initiative for blind people to promote and facilitate knowledge on history by Braille system which is raised dots that can be read with the fingers by people and who have low vision. It was also informed that such books will not only be published in history but also will be made available in all the sector to gain the knowledge, he said adding that the Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao is encouraging all kinds of skills to improve the knowledge in every sector through skill development programs in Telangana State, he concluded.
Chairman, Sports Authority of Telangana State Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy was also present on the occasion.
