Hyderabad, June 16 : Now it is the turn of the proposed Pharma City in Muchcherla after the open cast mining in Mandamarri to rage a controversy. People in the 40-odd villages surrounding Muchcherla are begining to raise their voices against the proposed Pharma City near Muchcherla as they feel the proposed project is bound to destablise otherwise their peaceful life. This was evident when Telangana United Front (TUF) organised a round table conference on the ‘Consequences of Pharma City’ in Kandukuru mandal on Monday. Local leaders especially belonging to CPI, CPM and BJP have attended the meeting and lodged a protest opposing the government’s move to set up Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industries. The meeting unanimously resolved to oppose setting up of Pharma city in Muchcherla and further resolved to hold village level meetings to create awareness among local villagers about the impending dangers. And finally it has also resolved to hold a massive public meeting on the issue. The meeting was chaired by the balladeer Vimalakka and attended by senior journalist and president of Maa Hyderabad Sridhar Dharmasanam, President of Telangana Loksatta Party Mannaram Nagaraj, Vice President of Arunodaya Samskrutika Samakhya Mohan Bairagi besides local leaders and representatives of various political parties.
