UN Convention on Climate Change calls for 2019 Global Youth Video Competition


The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) on Biological Diversity (CBD)   and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), in partnership with GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), is conducting the 5th edition of “2019 Global Youth Video Competition”. 


In this year’s edition, young people from around the world are encouraged to showcase their talents, creativity and express their ideas in the form of a 3-minute video, under the following three themes.

∙         Nature-based Solutions for Food and Human Health

∙         Cities and Local Action to Combat Climate Change

∙         Nature-based solutions to balance the use of land for people.

The participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 and the videos should be submitted by July 28 2019. Under each category, one winner will be selected and the three winners will be invited to attend the UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) in Santiago, Chile, in December 2019, where the winning videos will be screened. The entries are to be submitted online at their website (biomovies.tve.org).
