In yet another inspiring episode, the state Minister for Power Gundlakunta Jagadeesh Reddy came to the rescue of 26 labourers who got stuck up at the Pulichintala project in the adjoining Andhra Pradesh due to the lockdown.
According to the details available, the Minister received a call from one of the teammates who informed him about their plights being faced at the Pulichintala project in AP where they went as daily wage labourers at the project site. However, since the works came to a grinding halt due to the lockdown they wanted to return home but were denied by the cops to cross the borders.
The Minister responding immediately to their plea instructed the Collector and SP to ensure all of them reach their Pachya Tanda village in Suryapet constituency safely. The district administration immediately spoke to the neighbouring authorities at the border and brought them into the state. The Minister who had been following up the matter at every stage instructed the officials to conduct a complete medical check-up on them before sending them to their village.
The labourers upon reaching their home finally thanked the Minister for following up with them and with the officials and providing them with all help and support to reach them home safely.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Chivvemla ZPTC Sanjeev Naik while thanking the minister expressed his gratitude towards his gesture in bringing 26 of their villagers safe and secure in this hour of crisis.
