In what can be termed as a counter political move, the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government today decided to order for a CBI probe into the temple fire accident in Antervedi.

A decision to this effect was taken by the CM today following which the state Home Department has written a letter to the Union Home Ministry to this effect. A GO is also expected to come out on Friday in this connection.

The move is considered to be a counter to the BJP’s serious allegations of sabotage behind the accident and Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan’s protests marches etc. The BJP and Pawan Kalyan both took to streets demanding action against the culprits. The government has deployed heavy force today banning public movement around the temple in Antervedi in view of Pawan Kalyan’s protest programme.

The state government landed in defence with BJP chief Somu Veerraju raising voice against the government terming it as a failure to prevent attacks on Hindu temples terming it as a Sabotage. Adding fuel to fire, Pawan Kalyan undertook a march to the temple forcing the YS Jagan government to order for a CBI probe as part of damage control exercise.
